priceline rip off

past poster: same story here. NOT happy with the supposed 4-star hotel we were put in. Not that it was a BAD hotel, just not even close to being 4 stars. Two at the most.

Hmmm. We just booked a room at the Airport Residence Inn through Priceline. Does anyone have any experience/knowledge about it?

priceline rip off

Turks, that is a risk a person takes when booking via a place like Priceline. Yes, you get a great price, but you also do not know the name of the hotel before you pay so no way you can do research to check it out. It is not the hotel%26#39;s fault.

Gabby, I%26#39;m aware of that. The point of the post is that you can%26#39;t always trust websites like Priceline. As you can read, in no way was I blaming the hotel itself.

Residence Inn is fine ';Traveling'; Fairly new. Not much there but many things within five min drive

Have to agree, 4 stars for the Residence Inn is pretty significantly ';misleading'; (to put it charitably).

I%26#39;ve been pretty fortunate using the service before, although typically used it in very large urban settings (Chicago, LA, Seattle, etc.). The worst experience I had was when it booked me into the Millenium Knickerbocker Hotel in Chicago as a 4 star hotel. Not on your life (although it seems to draw raves from some TA posters).

I feel your pain. But it%26#39;s the price we pay for bargain shopping. If they do this more than very occasionally, they%26#39;ll lose the business they should covet the most.

priceline gave me University Place as a 4 star once. Ive read on bidding for travel of others receiving it as a 4 star also. Its not a 4 star and not downtown, as its to far to walk, and isn%26#39;t 4 star quality. Ive used priceline more than a few times, but, have had to do major homework through bidding for travel on the cities I was going to. Indy is such a great city. I just wish priceline would be more honest with their 4 star ratings in Indy. Got omni as a 4 star once, and it was one of our best visits, being its was DOWNTOWN!!!! They are bargains, but, when they rate a hotel 4 star and its not, is a disservice to all their customers. I wont bid 4 star in Indy, cant take the chance. But, on a positive note, LOVE THIS CITY CALLED INDIANAPOLOS!! :)

Cincy: Let me swap some love with you, as Cincinnati is the only city among all the many I%26#39;ve been to over the years where I said ';I could live here.'; Beautiful city.

I don%26#39;t think any Residence Inn in the country could claim to be a 4 star hotel. Usually you can tell by the brand what you are NOT going to get. Non-chain properties like University Place are harder to call. Cincy is right: it ain%26#39;t no 4 star hotel; nice enough but not 4 stars.

Honk

hi Honk Honk: Just went downtown cincy for tapping of firehouse ale at rockbottom and appitizers, went to lyle lovett acoustic concert downtown, with John Hiatt. Then to Nicolsons for a pint and to catttlecompany for some dancing with a great band, now home, and bedddy bye. But, I love your Indy just as much as you love our Cincy. Two great cities!!!! Thank Goodness were within driving distance, CLOSE!! Good for an overnite!! :) Its all fun................

I%26#39;m jealous SweetCincy. Oh well, at least I get to go to a friends Mardi Gras party tomorrow.

I also got the University Place as a 4 Star downtown last summer. ??? Not what I was looking for, and I would not give it 4*. But there was a Noodles %26amp; Co nearby which redeemed it to my offspring. Luckily our car rental was with Enterprise downtown and they pick you up.

On our return trip we got the Sheraton downtown -- if I could only figure out a way to get that one every time! It was wonderful. Great rooms and the staff was very very nice as well.

Indianapolis is a great small city and I%26#39;m looking forward to spending more time there (just not in the University Place hotel).
