Dining @ the French Lick Resort

I recently found out about the French Lick Resort in IN. This place looks gorgeous and I am itching to check it out. Looked into spending a night there but I am not exactly excited about the prices. But I am looking for every reason to go there and at least take pictures.

I%26#39;ll be about an hour away from this resort during val%26#39;s weekend so I don%26#39;t mind the drive just to check it out (if possible).

Would they let non guests use the free shuttle? I am thinking of doing dinner with a friend there. If I eat there, would I be able to tour the hotels with the free shuttle?

What restaurant would people suggest I eat at?

Yes, you can use the shuttle between French Lick and West Baden. the grounds and the Hotels for both properties are breathtaking. The Restaurants are a bit pricey for both places, but French Lick does have reasonable priced and decent Buffet.
