We are looking to do a girls weekend with just 4 of us and thought it would be fun to find a place on a lake we could rent for 1 night. Sat. night stay.in June.
Can anyone recommend a cabin rental or even know of a hotel on a lake? I am open to about anywhere in Indiana or even in neighboring states provided the drive is only a couple of hours from Indy.
Thank you,
Jen

Sagamore Resort at Kent%26#39;s Harbor Marina on 16 mile Brookville Lake might be a good option for you. They have condos overlooking the marina right by popular Ainsley%26#39;s Cafe and the golf course. The parking lot for for the restaurant is right behind the condos, so it%26#39;s not a secluded spot, but they seem nice from what I%26#39;ve seen. (Since it%26#39;s higher on the hill, the view from the parking lot is probably one of my favorite in Indiana. The lake stretches as far as you can see both north and south.)

The odds aren%26#39;t really good that you%26#39;ll be able to get one for just one night in the middle of the summer, but the park service has cabins by Brookville Lake. They%26#39;re older, but they%26#39;re more secluded. The lake curves a bit in different places, so the cabins don%26#39;t offer a sweeping view of the whole lake but rather some water and mostly trees.
I couldn%26#39;t find the site, but there%26#39;s a centralized system where you can rent all park service owned cabins and lodge rooms, so you could probably find other options too. (Whitewater Memorial State Park is on Brookville Lake.)
If you like antiques/shopping, just southwest of the lake is tiny Metamora, a historic canal town. It is a ghost town after five, so definitely plan to go during the day. Liberty is a cute little town at the northern tip of the lake. It%26#39;s a nice place pick up a few groceries for your stay. (Brookville is just south of the southern point. I%26#39;ve driven through, but I haven%26#39;t spent enough time there to give any suggestions.)
I hope this helps! Have fun!

If you go to the pictures on my profile scroll down to the ones from Ainsley%26#39;s Cafe/Kent%26#39;s Harbor Marina to see the lake. The view from the condos isn%26#39;t quite as good, but it%26#39;s similar.
Thank you Lily318 for your suggestions!
Lake Wawasee area (Syracuse, IN) is nice. There are lots of great houses for weekly rental. But few that will rent for one night in June (as the previous poster mentioned). Some will do a weekend though. I did find this one mention of cottages for rent, but am not sure the quality or if they do one night either. Smokey%26#39;s Wawasee Landing 802 S. Lakeside Drive Syracuse, IN 46567,(574) 457-5232 - If you do a quick search on lake Wawasee, a large number of rentals will pop up. Good Luck!
