We live in Chicago and are looking for a weekend getaway to celebrate a 30th birthday of one of our friends. We really like to party and get crazy. Some of the girls in our group even like to dance on top of bars....but we also don%26#39;t like places with only 21 year olds. Is Indianapolis a good party town? Where is the place to go to bars? Any suggestions on bars or hotels? Or should we find another town to party in? We%26#39;ve never been to Indianapolis before so have no clue where to start. Thanks!
30th Birthday in Indianopolis...please help!
Downtown Indy has lots of bars, restaurants %26amp; place to eat %26amp; shop. Mass Ave just northeast of the city%26#39;s center is also fun. For bars per square mile, you might also look at Broad Ripple on the north side. Lots of fun places. Look at the reviews for ideas of places to stay or give us more details of what you like %26amp; we can try to help. One thing- you will need a car or rely on taxis here in Indy as public transit is only fair at best.

You want to party and get crazy? That is what 21 to 30 year olds do. They pack the bars most every night. Yes downtown has lots of bars that fit the bill and so does Broad Ripple. There are not many hotels near Broad Ripple , but plenty to choose from downtown. Wild Beaver Salloon, have a nice day cafe and tiki bob%26#39;s would probably be some places to suggest. Lots to choose from. check out indy.org the Indianapolis tourism website for some more information.
Thanks for the info. We%26#39;re driving down from Chicago so we%26#39;ll have our cars. Obviously don%26#39;t want to drink and drive so can you recommend a close and nice hotel to Tiki Bob%26#39;s? Is that downtown? Thanks so much for your help!
Tiki Bob%26#39;s is downtown on Meridian St. Lots of other bars are close by, so you could easily walk to all of them.
Homewood Suites is literally within yards of the bars. It recently opened within the last year. Holiday Inn Crowne Plaza (at Union Station) is probably your second closest hotel, with the Omni a close third. The other hotels (Hyatt, Embassy Suites, Conrad (pricey), Westin, Marriott, Hampton Inn) are within a few blocks.
There%26#39;s some great restaurants for the ';morning after'; brunch. Patachou on the Park is one of my favorites. Also, there%26#39;s some nice day spas (Studio 2000 is on Monument Circle) and shopping is good at the Circle Centre mall.
Have fun!
Downtown would be your best bet for a place to stay. Once you get into Indianapolis and checked into your hotel, you won%26#39;t have a need for your car again until you leave to go back to Chicago.
