What is there to do?

What is there to do in Indianapolis? I was planing on coming next week. I have never been before.

What is there to do?

What are your interests. Are you married , or have children, or single. Lots of restaurants, shopping , museums, and sporting events. Just another metropolitan city as any other. Check out indy.org for some more information.

What is there to do?

Sorry about not leaving enough info. It will be 2 adults and one 15 yr old. We aren%26#39;t interested in the clubs and bars. Are there good museums, or something else touristy? And what are the must see attractions and places? Does the city have public transportation? Thanks for the help.

Plenty to do. First, public transportation isn%26#39;t the best around here, but in downtown there is plenty of parking and it is easily walked. In the midddle of downtown is The Soldiers and Sailors Monument (The Circle). There is a Civil War Museum under it. There is The Indiana State Museum on Washington and West St. Also next doot to it is The NCAA Hall of Fame (not sure if it is open due to a fire). You an walk The Canal. Towards the north end is The USS Indianapolis Memorial (one of my faves.) The Vietnam Memorial is on the cnal just behind the State Museum. The State Capitol Building is downtown. Shopping downtown includes The Circle centre Mall. Not too far from downtown (north on Meridian St to 16th st and west about 4 miles) is The Indianapolis Motor Speedway. Drive right under the track to the museum there. (only $3.00) Farther north on Meridian to 30th St is he Indianapolis Childen%26#39;s Museum. Don%26#39;t be fooled by the name, adults loveit too. Up to 38th St and west about 2 miles is Crown Hill Cemetary. It has the highest natural point in Indy. On a clear day it%26#39;s worth going up to ';The Crown'; where famd Hoosier poet james Whitcomb Riley is buried. Stop inside the funeral home for free info. Next door to crown Hill is he IndianapolisArt Museum. Saturday (1o/11) should be pretty busy downtown, I think he Colts play, is it the curently undefeated Titans?

I believe it is the Baltimore Ravens.

I%26#39;ll add to the great suggestions already given: the Indiana State Museum also has an IMAX theater. The museum has a special chocolate exhibition that starts tomorrow and runs through January (I%26#39;m anxious to check that out myself!). Also downtown is the Indianapolis Zoo, which is pretty nice.

And tuesdaynight is right, the Colts play the Ravens on 10/12.

I guess we forgot about eats. You can find just about anything downtown. Do you have any preferences?
