Dinner & Show

Hi friends. We will be attending the Vinyl Cafe w/Stuart MacLean show at the Hilbert Theater on Sunday night. Any good recommendations on a place to get a bite of dinner before the show? I know Sundays are iffy downtown. Mass Ave area is good or maybe something closer to the theater. Thanks for your help.

The FFA convention should be wrapping up Sunday night so you might get lucky. Otherwise 55,000 high school kids downtown. What price range and what interests. Plenty to choose from.

In The Hilton at Illinois and Market Streets is McCormick and Schmick%26#39;s who specialize in seafood. Not over pricey but great and it%26#39;s only about a two to three block walk. The weather is supposed to be cool but dry so the walking possibilities are pretty much endless.

The FFA convention is ending on Saturday. That is good news for you. The Rathskeller is up by the Mass. Ave. area if that interests you.

We like ethnic food %26amp; McCormick %26amp; Schmicks might work. We love seafood. Definitely want to avoid teenagers.

Maybe we%26#39;ll hit something up north on the way down.

Thanks for the ideas.

Glad the FFA will be gone! What about Barcelona Tapas?

Seems like there%26#39;s a garage on Market St %26amp; we could park, walk over for dinner %26amp; then back for the show.

Just wanted to let everyone know we steered clear of Barcelona after seeing poor reviews. Got to park on the street %26amp; grabbed a bite at Rock Bottom. Worked out great. Thanks for the input.

Good for you making a decision after reading reviews on TA. It is what my wife asks me now when on vacation ';what are their reviews like?';. I have been a restaurant expert with her ever since. I let her look at their websites and menus to get a feel for what we would enjoy. I also enjoy Rock Bottom they don%26#39;t feel like a chain restaurant. Each one is a little different in each city I.E. the local flavors %26amp; names of the micro brews. Parking on the street is easy on the weekends if you know the one way streets downtown.

We liked Rock Bottom %26amp; it was a good plan to get there early %26amp; find parking before other people came for the show. We parked a block from the theater %26amp; got out quickly afterward. So far TA has not steered me wrong. I just pay attention to other contributers travel patterns to see if they match ours. And I%26#39;m happy to see good info about Indy from you %26amp; the other frequent fliers here.
